As a father of an almost 10-month old, this makes me both excited and nervous (especially the climbing and biting parts) about my child growing up.Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08811858639259602946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2117136912052729666.post-86008913203984359852012-01-20T10:11:56.790-05:002012-01-20T10:11:56.790-05:00We definitely have it easier than you, I do recogn...We definitely have it easier than you, I do recognize that. He can't express his frustrations in the moment, but he definitely CAN communicate his wants.

The bilingual kids I've known have taken longer to talk than the monolingual ones...but then when they do, they're talking about astrophysics and doing film critiques - in TWO languages! This, I believe, is how it's going to be very soon with your gorgeous boy. Hugs to you.Lemon Gloriahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07280085058516960260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2117136912052729666.post-20391558369989106862012-01-20T10:09:51.821-05:002012-01-20T10:09:51.821-05:00You are so sweet! He's a great kid, he really is.Lemon Gloriahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07280085058516960260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2117136912052729666.post-40823750494614945642012-01-19T19:19:10.394-05:002012-01-19T19:19:10.394-05:00Obviously, I know how frustrating it is. I'm still dealing with grunting, pointing, and tantrums when I don't understand what "this" is. I still dream of the day when I hear "I love you" from him... One day... Anyway, your boy is amazing and adorable and he absolutely rocks. Good job, mama. He's going to make a fantastic big brother, I just know it. :DLunahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03489800616400078160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2117136912052729666.post-51878530769997651152012-01-19T17:48:14.221-05:002012-01-19T17:48:14.221-05:00Oh I wish that video was so much longer! You talk a lot about your frustrations Lisa, but you're really doing wonderful at being a mom. He's caring and loving and 2 and a half all at once. How fun. How exhausting!Lynnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05723341189816254118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2117136912052729666.post-60731910754509131932012-01-19T16:53:28.583-05:002012-01-19T16:53:28.583-05:00Thank you! We've been putting him into a time out, but I could just walk away and be somewhere else.

That's exactly right. So wonderful, and makes me so crazy. When he gets out of hand, get up and leave. "J, I'm sorry your angry, but you cannot hit me. (get up and walk away) mama will be over here until you calm down"

Also, sometimes it's stuff like that that will work when all the talking in the world doesn't. [Even though you would never have done it consciously or on purpose] You tell him "we don't hit/bite" and he hears the teacher from the Peanuts cartoon. Drop him on the floor after he clocks you? He'll remember that.

Little people are so wonderful and so trying at the same time!cla517https://www.blogger.com/profile/14825038094929045322noreply@blogger.com
