I feel like I ought to think they are ridiculous and loathe them, but the truth is, I find them quite charming. Maybe this is because I'm short and I find wedge anything appealing? I don't know.

I went a-huntin' on the Internet, and came across two pairs that I particularly like, on Zappos, land of shoe magic. The first is by Marc Jacobs and too spendy, in my opinion. The second is by Puma, and I might like those even better, despite my penchant for orange and pink together.
Or are they just too silly? What do you think?
I have a pair my mom talked me into buying, though they're more "serious" and "dressier" and I have not worn them once,I put them on and then just end up either in actual sneakers or actual heels depending on the occasion, have never figured out when to wear them.
ReplyDeleteI think this is what I cannot figure out - WHERE do you wear them? If I were younger, or without kids, I would probably wear them for casual. But as it is, I need things I can run in to chase my kids around. And for dressy, I'm going to wear actual heels, as you said. I do think it's adorable that your mom talked you into buying some, though.
DeleteHow do I feel about them....I can't explain it but they make me feel happy. There's a youthful, 80's retro vibe. You picked cool colors, too.
ReplyDeleteBe that as it may, I totally wouldn't wear wedge sneaks because I'm odd and don't like footwear which cover my ankles. Except cowgirl boots.
Heather, I actually particularly love these, which do not cover ankles: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/goldluxe-by-zigi-london-wedge-sneaker/3412523?origin=category&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=&resultback=1676 I might've just bought them without consulting the world, but they do not have my size.
DeleteOh, I covet! Nordstrom never fails. I hope the size you need is in stock soon
DeleteI think they themselves are fine if you want them.
ReplyDeleteMy issue is more with the Skechers brand that markets them to teens and tweens under the tag line "Daddy's Money" and it's a bunch of teen/tween girls sexing it up in the shoes to get "Daddy's" money. Sick. Here's a Huff Post article talking about the whole controversy http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/27/daddy-money-by-skechers-_n_2774226.html (Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now)
So, as long as it's not Skechers, go for it! I like the Pumas!
So, Cheryl, that really annoys me. Daddy's money - so irritating and gross. That makes me mad. Ugh. Thank you for telling me.
DeleteLove them. Want them. Do it.
ReplyDeleteI think they're really cute. But I wonder how good it is for a small childs feet for walking. Coudn't they turn their ankle? I don't know, I'm old!
ReplyDeleteOh, you're talking about for you! hahaha! Sorry, somehow I was picturing India in wedge sneakers... They are awesome and would look so cute on you~
ReplyDeleteThose ones are pretty cute admittedly.... but generally they just make me think of the Spice Girls circa 1996.
ReplyDeleteNot that this is necessarily a bad thing....
