Pretty much sums it up

Etiquette, as explained by my three-and-a-half year old to his grandmother:

"Saying 'please' is polite."

"Saying 'thank you' is polite."

"Saying 'fuck' is not polite."

And there you have it.

  1. Oh come on, Jordan: A good "F this and F that" can be very polite, if talking with your friends about the people you mutually hate! help him relax, Mom. The F word can be very useful in politely explaining how you feel (as you well know!)

    1. Well, hmm...I think I am in agreement with him in terms of politeness (maybe just not IMpolite, depending on one's company!) I will certainly explain the usefulness of the F-word when he's older, however. It's such a useful word in so many ways.

  2. I think he's got it!

Just wait until he's a bit older and asks if he can say a certain word, since the situation calls for it. My daughter does this!

    1. That is interesting! Because he's heard us say bad words, but he doesn't tend to repeat them. He knows I'm really mad when I say goddammit! And the other day he said, "Why goddammit, Mama?"

  3. Haha, Jordan is wise beyond his years. Such a little gentleman!

What is necessary is not always polite :)
