Another low action flick

I've been told by my husband that I make the boringest movies ever. Ev. Ver.

And as he pointed out, he's the father of this child.

I must admit, I whip out my camera at every opportunity. I have many little clips of not very much going on.

But this one? While low on action, there's hope, fortitude, victory, rejoicing, and a wee bit of hysteria.

So if you've got 42 seconds and want to see a tiny little triumph, I'm sharing one with you.

  3. He is so cute. By the way, you will NEVER regret taking too much video. You would only regret missing out on videos you don't take. My son is only 2 and I watch his little baby videos like this all the time. Keep it up!

  5. Yay!!!! For a moment there, I thought he might be about to recite Hamlet's soliloquy. Trust me, this is much more interesting.

    Yay, Boy!

  6. I love this! OH SO ADORABLE. I love LOVE love it. It is not boring. I love the little feet kicking at the end.

And I agree on the videos. We don't take nearly as much as we should. Every time we watch any of those early videos we laugh hysterically at our comments, too.

We were all sitting around at Walker's parent's house when Avery turned over for the first time. We all started clapping loudly. I sometimes worry that he gets TOO much attention.

    Happy Almost New Year!!!

  11. My youngest is 16. I love watching his videos and love even more the thought of using them at his wedding or when his children come to visit. Your boy is so danged cute. He just keeps getting cuter.
By the way, you teach your child to walk and talk? then you spend years telling them to sit down and shut up! I think Gallager is gods middle name(his first name being Murphy)Keep recording Lisa, it's even more fun years from now.

  12. Jules - I think the problem is that I think they're ALL adorable, even the ones where absolutely nothing happens.

Lisa - He really is a little snugglebug.:)

Sara P - I believe that is absolutely true. My regrets are always the things I didn't do when I had the chance.

freckledk - That makes me smile, lovely!

Dagny - The idea makes me giggle. And soon he'll be all, alas, poor Yorick...

Jane - He was sooo mad with the kick kick kick!

I don't think you can give too much attention, really. Avery is such a sweet kid, and I think because of all the positive attention he's gotten from the time he was born, he's going to grow into a very self-assured, happy adult. Which is my hope for Jordan as well.

Happy almost New Year to you too!

Susan H - I'm glad I didn't cut it off. He was so happy when he did it the first time, but by the time I was filming the second roll, he'd had enough.

Red - Thanks! Awesome. I will keep filming like a fiend.

kayare - I'm happy to hear that. I've watched it about 54 million times, and every time, I'm like, oh, come on, you can do it!

    LJ - Thanks!

amisare waswerebeen - Thank you! I'm glad.:)

Lynn - Thank you! I hadn't thought down the road, but it's true - it's so wonderful to have movies from when you were a kid!

And I have heard that a few times...you long for those first words and then you long for quiet.:)

  14. I loved it. Not boring. AT ALL. Just makes me realize how bad I am about getting the video camera out. When i look back on old videos of my 2 year old, I sit back and cherish every little thing - the sound of her squeaky little voice (did she really sound like that?) - the expressions she used to make (did she really used to do that?) and all the little things I never, ever thought I would forget.

but let me tell you, I did forget and seeing those videos is abso-freaking-lutely wonderful.

keep on keeping on sister. oh - and he's gorgeous!

  15. I, too, was on the edge of my seat! At first I didn't know what was going to happen, then he started looking over his shoulder and I was silently cheering "roll over, roll over!". Splendid encouragement by you, his biggest fan!
