The Ides of May

Today I woke up to an email from a dear friend; "*hugs*" was all it said.

It was perfect.

Today is the day my dad walked out the door and never came home again alive.

Today is a hard day for me.

Today I'm posting my first little video in lieu of writing.

It might be too weird and rambly and as such, might be my last.

We'll see.

  2. I think you should do more videos. I've been reading your blog since before you met Nick - when you were dating all these guys and dyeing fabric all the time etc. So although I don't know you - I know you. Life is not about perfection - just like you talk about in your video, so who cares if your video is not perfect. It's perfectly you. It's okay to go off on tangents and talk with your hands. I too would use less profanity, but that's my issue not yours. :-)

    1. Oh, thank you Megan! Thank you for being such a long-time reader, and thank you for your lovely support. I know, I know, the profanity! I was raised without profanity (mostly) and to feel like I was making poor choices in using it. Hugs.

  4. Loved the video! Normally I hate vlogs (and the word vlog) but I have been reading for so long that I feel like its another way to get to know you!

And I'm wishing you love and light this weekend.

    1. Thank you so much for your support. The weekend was terrific, actually. Full of love and support and friendship. Exhausting and wonderful. And I also loathe the world vlog, which is why I didn't use it.

  6. I just got a chance to watch this, Lisa. Loved it! Sure, you might have the mouth of a sailor. But you have the heart of a saint. I wouldn't want to know you any other way. I'm already in love with your writing. Now I'm a fan of your videos, too. Big hugs to you.
