One of the funnest things about blogging

Back when I was pregnant, one of my now-friends Janelle started reading my blog.

If you were with me through the journey back then, you've most likely read her comments.

And OK, technically she still counts as an invisible friend, since I've never actually met her. But we've emailed a great deal and we're Facebook friends and one of these days we might actually meet in person and introduce our boys.

She was also pregnant back then, and due ahead of me. And then she had her boy and then she and her family packed up and moved to Mexico.

And now she's just had another baby! A girl!

She was counting down the weeks on FB and I was following her updates leading up to the date...and then last weekend was a busy busy one for us.

So I learned that she'd had her baby when she left me the above Facebook message Saturday night. Which just, how awesome is that? And so glad she was prepared. I mean, what do you do postpartum without a squarch bottle?

Congratulations and good planning, Janelle!

  2. I love that about blogging as well - I love having all of these friends, some of whom I have never met in real life, but to whom I feel just as connected as many of my "IRL" friends.

    Congratulations, Janelle!

  4. A) the squarch bottle is one of my faves as well, because as you (now) know, i had my boy early as opposed to your late arriver, so i was well versed in squarching by that point! 2) i love make believe friends (of which you are one of my two- go ahead, feel honored!); and iii)i also say both "funner" and "funnest". i also say "brung", which i should probably stop doing...

  5. Squarch bottle = technical term, definitely.

Congratulations on the birth of your little one, Janelle!

P.S. Sorry my site keeps eating your comments, Lisa, but thanks muchly for stopping by.

  6. HK - :)

Wendy - YES! It's kind of extraordinary, isn't it? I feel like my life is so much richer for it.

    Stevie - Thanks! :)

Coleen - Hahaha - well versed in squarching! And I do feel honored! And the English language is to be played with, I believe. And as long as you can produce the grammatically correct version when necessary, I feel like you can take whatever liberties you want.

Keenie Beanie - Yes, definitely. And no worries - my site eats people's comments as well. Blogger, I think. Frustrating.

  8. Thats awesome! For my next birth (insh'allah) I will DEF get a squarch bottle! I can't believe I didn't know about it before I read your post way back then. And when I did it was a serious Eureka moment for me - shame it was just a few weeks too late!

  9. Wow! I'm famous! I just saw this post as I'm sitting here typing with one hand and holding my new bundle/nursing with the other. I startled her with the laughing as I read this... ouch. Anyway, yes, we will definitely get our boys together when I'm back home this fall!

  10. I was really looking forward to the squarch bottle portion of the hospital tour tomorrow. Unfortunately the Canucks did not win and I will be watching game 7 tomorrow instead of being a responsible parent-to-be.
